Le premier projet de Scoutbots, Protei, est un drone nautique autonome et open source capable d’opérer, sans intervention humaine, sur les trois principales pollutions d’origine humaine : le pétrole, les plastiques et la radioactivité.

Protei a été conçu par Cesar Harada, chercheur et entrepreneur franco-japonais issu du MIT.
